2021.10.16 23:14 AstroSeed Cosmic Ladder update 22.0: [poll] Narrowing down the Eastern Group's unified time!
Greetings Cosmic Climbers! Thanks to everyone who participated in the last poll. We actually have a rather even distribution of votes for the Eastern Hemisphere folks which could make narrowing down the unified time a little tricky.
If you're new to this sub and would like to join the Cosmic Ladder global daily group meditation, kindly read this FAQ to get yourself up to speed. Updates to the FAQ have been suspended until the relaunch. Thank you for your understanding.
For this week's maintenance poll, we're narrowing down the Eastern Group's "Unified Signal" timeslot! The poll will only range from 12:00 UTC to 17:00 UTC due to the limited number of poll options. Apologies to the person who voted 18:00 UTC. To everyone voting, please vote the hour that is most convenient for you. Gentle reminder to please consult with a UTC time zone converter before voting. Here's a sample website that converts time zones:
In the dark blue button that says "Add another city or time zone..." please type UTC, press enter, then click on the "+" on the left of the button, then type in your city on the dark blue highlight.
I apologize for the insipid content of these last few updates guys, it's going to be more exciting again soon. Thank you so much for participating and you're awesome for making this a daily practice! May you be well, may you be safe, and may you be at ease.

2021.10.16 23:14 SunnyGreengrass At the wedding, could Auntie Muriel actually know who she was telling Dumbledore rumours?
I've got suspicious just because at some point through conversation she calls Barney Barry. Seems to me like something she would enjoy doing. Telling Harry all that stuff in this way and seeing his reaction, pretending to be clueless who he is, and then call him 'Barry'. Sounds like fun.

2021.10.16 23:14 QuadeWarren Budget IFAK + complication
I believe this will be the right place due to the context. So, friends of ours were over and we got to talking about preps and staging points for when SHTF. Mainly for how we’d leave our major city and what places we’d intend to go. We’re just starting out on bugout and preps, so we’re very inexperienced. I’d like to build out an IFAK one piece at a time with quality pieces, but that also sounds like both the right way and a way to nickel and dime your budget down.
Any suggestions on at least a starter IFAK for us? Four people, so the cost would be 4x whatever you suggest.
So the complication. There is a baby - a newborn. Any suggestions on where to read up on infant first aid and maybe additional components in the IFAK for an infant?
Depending on the SHTF scenario, I think hunkering down is the best choice, but it is always good to have options.

2021.10.16 23:14 b1ackcat Did it take your brain a little while to "catch up" to your new size?
Now that I've started wearing smaller clothes, getting dressed in the morning has become a mini emotional roller coaster. I'll pick up a shirt, start to put it on, have the little mini panic that it's way too small it's never gonna fit it's going to look too tight and be embarrassing omg.... But then it fits perfectly. Suddenly I get a huge confidence boost and my mood immediately comes back up.
Did this happen to anyone else? Does it still?

2021.10.16 23:14 CsCblackhammer What are my odds of getting a palindrome to drop from a heroic nightfall?
Pretty much title. I’ve been running it since reset and have gotten more exotics than nightfall weapons, but have yet to get a palindrome to drop. Is it possible to still get one from the heroic runs? I don’t have a fireteam so completing any of the higher difficulties is out of the question for me right now.

2021.10.16 23:14 Cryptodragonnz What is a crypto portfolio that you would recommend to a complete new-comer, who wants to buy and hold for at least one year?
Having thought over this - here is the recommendation I would make:
60% BTC - bitcoin is the king, and while it is less volatile than most cryptos, its fluxuations are still high enough to scare new-comers.
30% ETH - personally I think ETH will outpace BTC's gains, especially once passive income is available via ETH2.0 - but there is a risk of either some technical mis-step, or the competitors stealing users away from ETH. Gas fees need to be fixed ASAP.
That leaves 10% (which I think is a fair allocation for a newcomer). Here is how I would allocate it to make sure it covers a wide range of token types and allocations:
1% = Paxgold (gold backed token). Boring as hell, but if crypto has another 50% pull down - sell this and buy back some other cryptos
1 % = MVI (metaverse index). This is great! It gives exposure to 12 or so gaming / NFT themed coins, and the protocol / DAO manages the allocation on your behalf. A huge performer.
1% = DPI (defipulse index). Like MVI, except it covers defi projects. A single token covers you instead of buying and swapping 12 or so defi protocols.
1 % = BNB. Binance is still a competitor for the amazon of crypto - they have truly learnt what tokenomics and utlity mean. Stake it on binance, get into launchpads or whatever you please. BNB is not going away.
1 % = FTX. Sam and FTX are not going away, and FTX has similar use cases to BNB. This means you have a 2% exposure to the two largest players (sans coinbase) in the crypto world.
1 % = DOT. This gives you exposure to interoperability. I actually hold more ATOM myself, but for a newcomer, a higher market cap is preferred.
1 % = XSUSHI. The king of the DEXes (and yes UNI has a higher market cap but STILL no passive income dividends). Why X-Sushi? Because that is the staking coin. Stake for passive income and forget.
1 % = ADA. This is your ETH competitor holding. Personally I'd rather have MATIC / AVAX / SOL / LUNA but again for a new user / investor, the preference is for a higher market cap so less risk. And easy staking at 6%.
1 % = AXS. This seems like a weird choice and its partly duplicated by MVI (which holds AXS). But with 133% staking, this is a strong passive income opportunity. That passive income can be sold to buy launchpad tokens with your FTT and BNB holdings.
1% = USDC. I was going to suggest a "wildcard" / moon-shot, but for a new user that isn't an option for a 1 year hold. Instead they have a 1% stable coin allocation - why? Because when the market takes a dump (which it does every fortnight, let's face it) - your new crypto friend will likely be freaking out. This allocation lets them buy the dip into a coin of their choice from the above.
What are your thoughts and what would you suggest?
